At age 17, Joanna Mae had a dream of starting an orphanage after a mission trip to the Philippines. She returned with a new heart to serve orphans and street children. This calling continued to follow her throughout her college career. During her last undergraduate semester at USC, she presented a pitch about her orphanage idea and decided to reach out to her old connections in the Philippines.
